GCSE Physics

Physics demands both mathematical fluency and conceptual understanding, which is why many students find it the most challenging of the sciences. The two difficulties tend to compound each other – and sessions that address both together tend to produce the clearest improvements.

Newbury Study Hall offers small-group GCSE physics tuition in Newbury for students in Years 10 and 11, with sessions available after school, on Saturday mornings and during holiday revision weeks.

  • Ambitious Year 9 students may also attend
  • A-level physics is also available

How sessions work

Physics questions in exams are rarely straightforward applications of a formula. They require students to select the right approach, apply it correctly and express it precisely – which means both the maths and the underlying concepts need to be secure. Sessions work on both, using problem-solving practice to build fluency rather than simply revisiting theory.

Students also get ahead of their school timetable where possible, covering new material before it is introduced in class so that lessons serve as consolidation rather than first exposure.

  • Small groups of 3-4 (max 8)
  • All exam boards covered
  • Subject content, terminology, exam practice
  • Preparation tasks between sessions

Who it is for

Sessions suit students who want to improve on their current predicted grade, students aiming for top grades, and students in Year 9 who want to get ahead before GCSEs begin.

Open to students from all local schools, state and private.
