Chemistry is precise and technical, but students who learn the content systematically – rather than trying to understand it intuitively – tend to achieve consistently stronger results. Knowledge of the correct terminology is often what separates higher grades from lower ones.
Newbury Study Hall offers small-group GCSE chemistry tuition in Newbury for students in Years 10 and 11, with sessions available after school, on Saturday mornings and during holiday revision weeks.
- Ambitious Year 9 students may also attend
- A-level chemistry is also available
How sessions work
Chemistry has a large volume of content to cover and a specific technical vocabulary that examiners expect students to use correctly. Sessions address both – building knowledge of the subject matter alongside the precise language needed to express it in exams.
Rather than working through a fixed syllabus order, the tutor responds to each student’s current position: consolidating areas of weakness, filling gaps, and introducing new topics before their school will teach them.
- Small groups of 3-4 (max 8)
- All exam boards covered
- Subject content, terminology and exam practice
- Preparation tasks between sessions
Who it is for
Sessions suit students who want to improve on their current predicted grade, students aiming for top grades, and students in Year 9 who want to get ahead before GCSEs begin.
Open to students from all local schools, state and private.
